COLUMNS

The term "laminated column" refers to two or more layers of dimensional lumber that have been mechanically laminated with nails. They're strong, stress-rated, and pressure-treated. 

Laminated columns are highly resistant to bending, twisting, or warping. There's very little chance of a knot being in the same place on all three pieces. 

Laminated columns also have greater longevity than solid posts. Each layer of lumber is permeated with wood preservatives and kiln-dried. 

All of our columns are manufactured at our truss plants in Remington and Linton. They're also treated for decay or insect damage.

We can sell columns for individual sale or manufacture them for dealers. We have the capacity to meet either need. 

Our columns are typically 3-ply 2 x 6, but we can also sell:

• 4-ply
• 5-ply
• Perma-Columns

Helpful tip: You'll want to avoid solid 6 x 6 posts. These columns are unable to be treated all the way through, making them suspect of rotting from the inside out.
